- Brandee J.

Delicious. Food was fresh, service was amazing! Not really suitable for larger groups unless you are willing to split up. Best biscuits and grits we have had in a while! Definitely recommend.

- Azia Z.

When you eat out often, it’s exciting to find a diner like this one. A great menu! Great, unique selection! A staff who obviously enjoys their jobs. And you won’t leave hungry. The slushies alone are worth going! I recommend strawberry pineapple and add ginger… yummmm!

- Al B.

Just had another great breakfast at Citrus the Diner. We’ve been there 10-12 times, and the food is fantastic – very well prepared with excellent flavoring. The staff was very good, so the service was great. This is a small place, but I would recommend it to everyone.

- Dave B.

Great food, friendly service. The OJ is fresh squeezed. The coffee is good. Overall, great little place.

I was searching for a breakfast restaurant that serves corned beef hash near my job in Denver. I came across this restaurant, and I’m glad I did. My food was so delicious. The ladies working there were very friendly and welcoming.

- Emarie S.

Simply outstanding. Great food, and super waitresses. My husband loved the omelet he ordered, and my gumbo was outstanding. Would recommend this diner to anyone near Lake Norman.

- Pat S.

The loaded tots were amazing. Will be back to try more.

- Angela L.

We LOVE this place!! This is our third time here, second time in one week because it was so crazy good last time. The burgers are so delicious!! Made in house—they are awesome!! And the peanut butter pie is to die for. I’m not a desserts/sweets person, and this is immediately addictive. Heather, our server, is phenomenal. She’s professional and fun, gives fantastic recommendations, and is a delight—part of the experience!! Highly recommend.

- Cathy M.

Food is very tasty. Clean, great service. Our waitress was so sweet and very helpful.

- Andy H.

Awesome place to eat. Great food and very friendly staff. Prices are a little bit more than most breakfast and lunch places, but the food and service are well worth it. Will definitely be coming back for breakfast and lunch.

- Phillip M.

Have been here multiple times. The food is always fantastic, and the staff is both knowledgeable and attentive. Definitely a little hidden GEM! They also offer fresh-squeezed orange juice and have a full bar… great brunch spot, too.

If you want to be ruined from any other biscuit….try Citrus the Diner. Everyone else’s will seem just okay. Very kind service. These people somehow make your breakfast not just their job but their REASON for being there. Thank you to all of you for such a great spot to eat.

- Jesse F.

EASILY the best place to get breakfast in town. Very friendly staff, great food, and very good coffee!

- Colin B.

We have been a few times now. The jerk chicken wrap, buffalo wrap, and cinnamon roll French toast are our favorites! Clean establishment and friendly staff. Love that their OJ is fresh squeezed. Kids thought that was neat to watch.

- Sara W.

We love it here. While it is true that it is a bit pricey, the portions are large. And delicious. Very friendly staff and prompt service.

- Phillip M.

Tried Citrus Diner today for the first time. Had the jerk chicken wrap with avocado mango salsa, and it was to die for. The chicken was marinated masterfully in jerk spices and melted in my mouth. The avocado mango salsa added just the right amount of citrus tang. It was an explosion of flavors in my mouth. The creamy coleslaw side and the butter pickle garnishing was a pleasant addition to the wrap. The service was prompt, friendly, and responsive. I’ll ask for Becca next time I’m in, which will be soon. Blake, the owner, has hit another ball out of the park with Citrus the Diner. Highly suggest it for breakfast or lunch.

- David C.

Always a good meal. They are open daily from 6 to 3. Go early on Saturday or Sunday. I recommend the three cheese omelet or the breakfast quesadilla. Do not forget to ask for your frequent flyer card.

- Ward K.

Great service. Great atmosphere. Excellent management. Server/manager took care of us and made our entire experience.

- Jamie L.

Food and service was good. Great breakfast menu.

- Brian S.

Our family of six went to Citrus the Diner because of the vast variety of menu options. A lot of us got breakfast. I had the shrimp and grits, which were creamy and absolutely delicious! The staff is very knowledgeable about the gluten-free options available. My son said the gluten-free toast, and it was amazing, which is something you can’t usually say about gluten-free bread. I can’t wait to go back to this charming little restaurant with a fresh menu and great service! Thanks to Jersey and management for making it so enjoyable!

- Faith W.

Absolutely love the beignets and everything else they have on the menu for breakfast for that matter.

- Scott E.

Amazing food and people. Fresh-squeezed orange juice is yummy.

- Angie B.

Simply delicious. Excellent food, menu, and service.

- Alice C.

The sticker shock wore off after the food came. It’s pricey, but it’s really good. From the coffee to the biscuit and everything in between. Can’t do it often, but it’s ok for a special treat.

- Troy P.

In all honesty, I couldn’t stop stuffing my face! Tasty, fresh, and on point! Check it out; you’ll thank yourself for going!

- Jonathon W.

Wow – what an amazing breakfast!! The food was absolutely delicious and great service! We will be back.

- Tara B.

This place was a wonderful find. I don’t know how I’ve missed it for over a year. Make the time to stop by and eat. First off, the food was delicious. I had the tater-tot omelet, which was freaking fantastic, with home fries, which I might even say were better than the omelet, and some toast, and that bread was thick. They have the good toast jelly that comes in little round containers. Plus, they’re super earth friendly! Biodegradable everything. This was the first time I’ve got to use a biodegradable straw! Not to mention, they have fresh-squeezed orange juice, which is basically like drinking a whole orange. It was delicious. The people were very nice. It had a wonderful atmosphere, and all in all, I’m going back very soon. Take the time to stop by here! They’re awesome!

- Cyndal B.

Delicious food at a good price. Awesome customer service. Totally worth going back.

- Jason C.

Enjoyed a really great breakfast at Citrus the Diner with my wife and mother the other morning. DW and I had the country-fried steak special with home fries, which were some of the best I’ve ever had. My mother raved about her cheese omelet. Portions were more than adequate. Didn’t think the prices were that high, but we’re pretty new to the area and more than willing to pay a little extra for good, well-prepared food in a nice, clean restaurant. This isn’t your typical greasy breakfast dive. Decor and staff were great, and service speed was good. I really make a point to try locally owned places everywhere I go. Denver has started to up its food game with some really good local spots, and I think Citrus the Diner is a great addition.

- RJ

Great, home-cooked food! One of my favorite places to eat!

- Angie S.

A unique atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is fresh and delicious!!!

- PURR Powersports & Performance

My go-to breakfast spot with a group or all alone. Never matters to me. It’s always great.

- Milo S.

Love the breakfast here. Great friendly service, and great Bloody Marys.

- Curt D.

Great little diner. Food and service were excellent.

- Joanne L.

Food was superb!!! Wait staff is top notch!!

- Amy V.

Hubby was in bologna-sammy-and-fries heaven. He said the only thing that would have made the bologna better is if it were incinerated. I LOVED the cinnamon-roll French toast with strawberries and whipped cream. The waitresses could not have been more welcoming and great at their jobs. Loved that there were meals on the pricing spectrum – very low to “are you kidding me!” and in between. We certainly will be returning!!

- Bernice B.

I’m not from around here, just visiting. My wife has been having a difficult time finding some amazing biscuits & gravy. Well, I’m very pleased to report that her search is over. She LOVED her biscuits & gravy! I ordered the meat lovers’ omelet with potatoes and a side pancake. It was very good. Our server was very friendly and great! Come on out and support Citrus the Diner!

- Steven H.

My husband and I came here for the first time today, and it’s our new favorite breakfast place! It looked really busy, so we figured we’d pull in and try it. The wait was only about 20 minutes; you wait in your car, and they text you. The menu is very well put together, and everything sounded amazing. I started with the banana bread latte, and it was one of the best lattes ever; it came with a cinnamon stick that added great flavor. For food, I got the Huevos Rancheros, and it was better than any other I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back and try their whole menu. On top of amazing food, the service we incredibly friendly and fast.

- Stacia S.

Went with the Mrs. The flavors are great. Will definitely be back. The cinnamon roll pancake is good, but the pineapple upside-down pancakes that the Mrs. got are way better.

- A. C.

My husband and I came here for brunch. First time and certainly will not be the last. Food was delicious. I had the hash omelet, and my husband got hash and eggs. Drinks I got a raspberry mimosa; also very good. Service was also very good here.

- Heather L.

Favorite breakfast spot in Denver! They have options for healthy, traditional, sweet, and savory. The staff is always on top of cleanliness and service! Support local.

- April A.

My wife really liked the decor and familiar feel of the diner. We tried the breakfast quesadilla and pineapple upside-down pancakes. Both were delicious as was the gravy biscuit I had as a side. Portions were generous. Price was reasonable considering we had leftovers. Waitress was quick with the refills, and the food made it to our table surprisingly fast. The staff welcomed other customers who appeared to be regulars. All in all, a very good first impression. Looking forward to returning and trying something different as the breakfast menu has a lot of tempting options.

- Kirk S.

This place is out of this world. Amy, our waitress, was amazing. Top -notch service and very kind and welcoming. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and restaurant. The food, OMG, the food. I had the shrimp and grits, and it was perfect. Shrimp cooked perfectly, not overdone, and the grits were the same way. My dad had the crab cakes; they were clean and didn’t taste like fryer oil. Again, cooked to perfection. My wife had the “Welders” breakfast, and she was very, very happy. We cannot wait to go back for the burgers and craft beer. The wife and I will be headed there again next weekend. Thank you, guys, for a wonderful breakfast!

- Giuseppe D.

The food and service here is beyond excellent! The only roadblock you’ll encounter is deciding on what to eat! Everything is delicious. I’m still working my way through the whole menu, but wow. Their pimento grilled cheese with pimento cheese fries is glorious. I tend to order one or two to go to heat up for dinner with tomato soup. Their burgers and sandwiches are deviously crafted to fill you up on wonderful tastes and textures but leave you craving more. Mad love for Citrus the Diner. The prices are great, too! I highly recommend stopping in if you are in Denver. You will not regret it.

- J.

This was literally the best breakfast I have ever had. The eggs were fresh and perfect. The grits were amazing. Tasty bacon. And the fresh squeezed orange juice was incredible. Can’t wait to go back!

-Brian L.

Nothing but good things to say. Went here for the first time today for a late breakfast with my mom. Got the chicken & waffles and the salmon eggs benedict and both were SO good. Everything was cooked perfectly, good portions, and brought out in a timely manner. Also got the watermelon mojitos which were probably the best mojitos we’ve ever had. Our waiter was great and attentive (I think his name was Jonathan?). Get there early to avoid the line, but honestly, even with a line, we only had to wait 15 minutes, and it gave us time to pick out what we wanted before being seated.

- Eryn

Very good, quick service. Food was served fresh, hot, and neat on the plate. Very good food. Small, cozy diner.

- Luke R.

My husband and I stopped in for lunch on a Sunday around 1:45 pm with no wait. I had the Buffalo Chicken Salad, which had plenty of fantastic fried chicken on top tossed in awesome buffalo sauce with some darn good kick to it! My husband had the Jerk Chicken wrap with mango salsa, which he really enjoyed and the broccoli slaw as a side. They’ve got great desserts staring right at you when you walk in, so we finished lunch with a Banana Cream Pie concoction, and it was delicious! Sure, the prices might be a little higher, but the staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and FINALLY someone has opened a restaurant that offers something different! Wishing you much success, Citrus the Diner!

- Denise B.

Sweet. Lord. Baby. Jesus. The chorizo burger was incredible, the loaded baked potato salad was delicious, and the peanut butter pie had a thick chocolate crust with peanuts…in other words, the food was just about life changing. Our waitress (Heather) was a splendid mix of fun, helpful, and on her A-game. We are coming back!!!

- Ivan K.

The food was great – had a fantastic custom omelet and hefty fruit cup. Everything was fresh, the inside is clean and pleasant, and the staff was attentive. Couldn’t ask for more. Maybe cost a little more but the quality was worth it.

- LA Management Company

We love Citrus the Diner. Every item we have tried has been amazing. Their pickup system is the best in Denver. Park, text your spot #, and your food is delivered right to your car. Excellent service. Excellent food. They are busy because their food is amazing. So be ready to wait if you arrive during normal dining times. Try the Maui Waui or Speed Boat. So delicious!

- Colin J.

Love Citrus the Diner. Great breakfast options and great service.

- Debbie Y.

Found the location in Google, and my friends who live in the area said they hadn’t been but heard the food was great. We got there and waited about 30 mins. It was worth the wait! I had Marian’s Favorite omelet, and the hubby had Uncle John’s Biscuit & Gravy Platter. I was not expecting the biscuit to be so big and fluffy… definitely homemade. The sausage gravy was excellent as well. I did taste a little sweet something with the biscuit and gravy, which was a twist but still very good; my omelet looked like all egg, which I like, versus when milk gets added. We also got Mimosas. They bring the mixer part in the glass with a small bottle of Prosecco. Our bill would have been much cheaper had we not had 2 each… yum! Our waitress was having her first day back after being out, and she was phenomenal! I venture to say we’ll be back to try a few other things.

- Heather H.

I have recently retired to the Lake Norman area, and we go out for breakfast at least 5 times a week. I am always on the lookout for the “BEST” breakfast in the Lake Norman area. Today, we visited the Citrus Diner in Denver, NC. We definitely will be back. After a couple more visits, it may become my #1 breakfast spot in the Lake Norman area. Huevos Rancheros– excellent. Chicken fried steak— Perfect. Crisp bacon. Orange juice squeezed fresh on site. Large assortment of fruit drinks. Coffee was good, hot, and regularly refreshed. Plus, a GREAT server!

- John S.

This remains the best breakfast in Denver. Creative menu and super service. We ate on the patio. I had Huevos Rancheros, and my wife had a create your own omelet. Simply outstanding. Update: Just tried the “better not lay a finger” pancakes. Pancakes topped with a crushed Butterfinger bar. Go for it.

- Brian M.

2nd visit still as amazing as the first. Of course, I got the raspberry mimosa as did my brother-in-law. Hubby got the Noda Hazey IPA. Omelets all around today. I tried the Corrina Omelet; so good. My husband got the Marian’s Favorite. Both cooked to perfection. Becky, our server, was great; very attentive, friendly, and lots of fun.

- Heather L.

Definitely will be coming back. The food was delicious, and I saw a lot more options on the menu that I would really like to try.

- Zuzu M.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING meal and service!! If you are looking to awaken your taste buds, let the chef, Keith, and the great staff, Jordan, Melba, and Alisha, take care of you. Consistent in quality, portions, and cleanliness. Highly recommend the chicken sandwich with this sweet but not too sweet sauce- I’ve never had quality in a chicken sandwich anywhere else – the freshness is unprecedented! Oh, and French fries – never will you find fries with such flavor. Wow!!!! Must try! Great outdoor space and environment as well as good parking. See you again soon.

- Chloe M.

Went for Sunday brunch with family. Great food selection and delicious. Will be coming back again.

- Jim G.

I literally can’t think of the perfect words to describe my dining experience. Everything from their bacon and eggs to their GRITS was so well made and seasoned. My husband and I couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the food was most of the time we were eating. (Not even counting my mimosa.) Stop what you’re doing and go eat there. I bet you’ll see my husband and I there at least every Saturday.

- Rebecca R.

There was a table for 8 available for our book club group. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Small restaurant and huge, varied menu. Something for everyone! Good, quality food.

- Pam R.

Sunday after church, every table was filled, yet the waitstaff was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast offerings are terrific, the Greek omelet was prepared perfectly – not a hint of overcooking the eggs that is so common. Even the corned beef hash was delicious and cooked with just a slight crust – just like I wanted it. Sure, the price points are a little above its neighborhood competitors, but so is the food quality and service. Worth every penny. Will be going back – a lot.

- Myron B.

The corned beef hash omelet was heavily, home fries were amazing, and the mimosas are a must with the fresh orange juice! Highly recommend!

- Meredith A.

- Jenn H.

Outstanding food and even better service. Every special I’ve tried has been delicious. Never had a bad meal here.

- Matthew D.

There were not many restaurants open in Denver on the 4th of July. Of course, the ones that were open were packed. I was wanting a hotdog really bad, so that’s what I ordered, even though I thought the price was high. The hotdog was pure beef and high with homemade chili. After eating that amazing hotdog, I changed my mind about the price and thought it was a great deal. My friend had the blue and black burger, and she loved it.

- Marsha I.

Food was fine, and the service was great! Glad to see small businesses doing well for themselves.

- Whitley C.

Absolutely enjoyed my lunch. The chicken and waffle was so yummy. Love the sauce! The chicken pot pie was so creamy and delicious. I topped it off with a mango and strawberry smoothie. Service was quick and so friendly. I think the price point was great for what you get it. See you all again.

- Ivonne R.

Fabulous as always. Waitresses are so friendly and amazing. Food is awesome.

Great breakfast spot. Fresh and tasty. Very accommodating to families with kiddos! Also, a few spots to eat outside. I usually always get the chicken and waffles sandwich, and it’s the perfect combination of spicy and sweet.
